In a Quest of Innovation and Collaboration; ICP.Hub Sahara Wraps Up a Successful Decahack

What to anticipate?

As Africa begins to emerge at the forefront of global blockchain development, ICP.Hub Sahara is pleased to announce the triumphant culmination of Brainstorming, Innovation, and Collaboration in a recently concluded successful Decahack event. Comprising five dynamic stages, this program brought together aspiring blockchain enthusiasts, industry experts, and mentors to explore, learn, and innovate. As we reflect on the accomplished stages and eagerly anticipate the forthcoming events, the energy within the ICP.Hub Sahara community is ecstatic.

The Decahack journey commenced with the Campus Tour, which attracted passionate involvement from a variety of educational institutions in the region. The goal was to interact with the diverse talent present in various academic environments.

Following the Campus Tour, participants transitioned seamlessly into the Virtual BootCamp and Hackathon. The virtual BootCamp was an intensive training ground that provided invaluable insights, skills, and mentorship from industry experts to the developers. The completion of this stage marked a significant milestone as participants emerged equipped with new knowledge. This surged them into the third stage – the Mini Hackathon. This segment challenged them to apply their newfound skills and creativity to solve real-world problems through blockchain.

The hackathon offered an unprecedented success, leaving a lasting impact on the participating students, ambassadors, and university administrations according to the ICP.Hub Sahara’s Co.Founder Adebayo Adebajo. He further reiterated that, While the journey was not without challenges, the overwhelming support and cooperation received from the majority of visited campuses underscored the immense potential and enthusiasm of the students.

Preparations for the Major Hackathon is in full swing, which is scheduled to end by collating all the projects on or before the 17th of February 2024. The climax of the Decahack event lies in the eagerly awaited Pitchfest, scheduled for March 29th to 30th 2024, the venue will be communicated in a bit. This grand finale will witness participants presenting their groundbreaking solutions to a distinguished panel of judges. The Pitchfest not only serves as a platform for recognition and sponsorship but also symbolizes the collective achievements, creativity, and potential within the ICP.Hub Sahara community.

Regardless of the outcome of the Pitch competition, every single project and team that participated are winners. Three winners will be selected for a cash prize of 2500 USD, 1500 USD and 1000 USD respectively and that’s not all. The top 10 best projects will also have the opportunity, recommended by the hub for a 5000 USD grant each to complete their startup ideas into fully functional on-chain MVPs. Awards and prizes are also to be expected from the state governments and other delegates present for the Pitch.

As the ICP.Hub Sahara community revels the success of the completed stages and anticipates the challenges and triumphs of the Major Hackathon and Pitchfest, the Decahack journey remains a testament to the power of collaboration, innovation, and the relentless pursuit of knowledge within the ICP space.
